Who We Are

Sage Loss Consulting is a Texas-based public insurance adjusting and appraisal firm focused on helping property owners navigate complex property insurance claims. We work for policyholders, providing objective claim evaluation, documentation, and support when losses are disputed, undervalued, or difficult to resolve.

Our team brings hands-on construction knowledge together with a deep understanding of insurance policies, claim procedures, and valuation standards. This allows us to approach each claim from both a technical and contractual standpoint, ensuring damages are properly identified, supported, and presented in accordance with the policy and applicable requirements.

Services Overview

Public Insurance Adjusting

A Public Insurance Adjuster (PA) represents the policyholder—not the insurance company—throughout the insurance claim process. Our role is to help property owners properly document, present, and support their claim so the loss is evaluated fairly and in accordance with the policy.

We inspect the damage, review the insurance policy, prepare detailed damage documentation and estimates, and communicate directly with the insurance carrier on the policyholder’s behalf. We also identify covered damages that may be overlooked, ensure repairs align with applicable building codes and manufacturer requirements, and help resolve disputes over scope or value.

Simply put, a Public Adjuster helps level the playing field by making sure the claim is supported with accurate, objective information—so the policyholder has the best opportunity to be properly indemnified and return the property to its pre-loss condition.

Appraisal

Appraisal is a built-in dispute resolution process found in most property insurance policies. It’s used when the policyholder and the insurance company agree a loss occurred, but disagree on the scope of damage or the amount of the loss.

When appraisal is invoked, each side selects an independent appraiser to review the claim. The appraisers inspect the property, evaluate the damages, and work toward an agreed value. If they can’t reach agreement, a neutral umpire is brought in to help resolve the remaining differences. Once an appraisal award is signed, it sets the value of the loss so the claim can move forward.

Appraisal is not a lawsuit and does not involve determining coverage or fault. It’s simply a structured way to resolve valuation disputes using experienced, impartial professionals. When used properly, appraisal can be an efficient and cost-effective way to bring a stalled claim to resolution and allow repairs to move forward.
